Working-class cats find homes, combat rats in Washington

Not all cats are suited for indoor life, but a Humane Rescue Alliance program has placed more than 150 Blue Collar Cats with caretakers around the D.C. metro area in the past two years. In exchange for food and shelter, these working-class cats provide a valuable service to residents of increasingly rat-infested Washington. Here’s the story of one Blue Collar Cat, Halley.
